Mama Mary!

This makes my heart sing!  I am filled with joy to see Bullen hugging his mama for the first time in 4 years.  I know that Mary's heart is full of joy too and that she is so proud of her son. What a feeling to have your son lay is head on your shoulder.  Thank you for sharing your son with me Mary!

A Great Big World!

This week has gotten away from me and I know you all want to see Rock the Block day 1.  It was so wonderful, our God is Big and Great!  Friday night we began the registration at 4:00pm for any walk-ins and we did have a few.  New Life Fellowship had everything ready upon our arrival - Registration Tent was set up, Water games, new gravel in the parking lot, arts and crafts room was ready,  worship room was decorated with lots of balloons and streamers, praise music with videos were prepared, snacks and mucho food had been made and many volunteers, young and old were waiting......  Now it was time to share Christ with these little children. I felt so blessed to be part of God's Plan. Our first session was:

Rock the Block News

This past weekend our small group headed southwest to the black belt to help a new church plant with Rock the Block [vbs]. On the way we picked up a few children in Mississippi to join us on our adventure to share the gospel in Gilbertown, Alabama. Three hours of travel in three suv's with seven adults and five children - adding 4 more children in MS - a trip to Walmart for shoes and McDonald's for food - traveled the back roads during a torrential rainstorm to arrive at New Life Fellowship to start our mission.  Here are a few pictures of all the fun on our initial journey!

Wise Women's Stone

A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give himsecurity for a lifetime. But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman.

"I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the stone."

TCAB Church Covenant

As members of The Church at Brook Hills, we affirm this covenant with one another by God's grace, for the good and ultimately for God's Glory.


Having been brought by divine grace to repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to surrender our lives to Him, and having been baptized as Christians in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we covenant together to glorify God by making disciples of all nations.


Together, we will draw near to God in worship.  We will delight in the glory of God, depend on the presence of God, grow in the knowledge of God and submit to the Word of God as the all sufficient authority in our lives and in His church.


Together, we will hold fast to hope we profess.  We will regularly participate in communion as we solemnly and joyfully remember the past work of Christ on the cross, celebrate the present work of Christ at the Father's right hand, and anticipate the future work of Christ in His return for His bride.


Together, we will spur one another on to love and good deeds.  We will meet with one another consistently, pray for one another regularly, and serve one another selflessly.  We will share each other's joys and bear each other's burdens.  We will edify one another with our speech and encourage one another with our example.  We will humbly and gently confront one another and receive correction from one another in accordance with a New Testament understanding of church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.


We will submit to the leadership of elders who have been entrusted by God to serve and care for this body by teaching the Word of Christ to us and modeling the character of Christ before us, and we will affirm deacons as leading servants in the church.  If we move from this local body, we will as soon as possible unite with another local church where we can carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God's Word.


May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
